Any thoughts on why it's so slow? I checked the Synology forums and people are complaining that speeds are slow at 10MB/s.

I'm not well versed in networks, but I can tinker.

I checked my network tab on the Synology and it tells me the network is "1000, full duplex, 1500 MTU." Sounds right. I don't have any bottlenecks on my LAN, everything is Gigabit, so I'm not sure why my NAS is so slow. That same transfer, Video Library to desktop, was averaging about 100MB/s, starting high at about 112 MB/s, and ending up at around 96 MB/s. To test my network otherwise, I tried transferring that same ISO to my Wife's computer via Homegroup sharing (we're both Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate 圆4). I'm still underperforming if I count it as Mb/s (which would be 27.2 Mb/s, right?). According to the performance chart linked above, I should be seeing 65MB/s. The sustained transfer rate was shown in the download window as 3.4 MB/s. To test this "slow" theory, I downloaded an ISO from my NAS to my computer's desktop. I like the NAS a lot, but one thing I've noticed is that its network speeds are terribly slow. I've got a Synology DS110j and I've had it for about a year.
